Vice Chairperson Ari Suutarla and Senior Project Coordinator Leena Hahle visited Bangladesh in January 2007. They were monitoring projects and having negotiations with Handicap International Bangladesh for partnership work.

Mrs Leena Hahle continued from Bangladesh to Nepal and met colleague Mrs Reija Huusko there. School for deaf children was visited with National Association of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, NADHH.

Nepal Awakening Society for Development, NASD had an Income Generating project with mobility impaired. A small shop owned by mobility impaired man was visited. Some of the participants for the project got some mobility aids.

Abilis Facilitator Jaya visiting Grameena Abyudaya Seva Samsthe GASS. They had Abilis funded project Jeevan Asha which was to empower people with disabilities on their rights.

Subhi Association for Women with Disabilities, SAWWD. West Bengal. Ms Kuhu Das is talking with disabled persons of a village before negotiations with the local authorities.

Mobility India office building in Bangalore is very accessable. Visitors to India 2007 were Mr Jukka Kumpuvuori and Senior Project Coordinator Tuula Heima-Tirkkonen.

Mrs Reija Huusko visited Tanzania National Institute of the Blind, TNIB in Dar es Salaam. The project was Tie and Die. Information Centre for Disability, ICD had just begun their work as a Partner Organisation of Abilis Foundation.

In Kenya there were many Disabled Persons Organisations, DPOs to meet.

In Mwanza Hope for Orphans & Mentally Retarded Children organisation had a project.
