Abilis Investigates Suspected Misuse of Funds in Tanzania

The Abilis Foundation has filed a request for investigation with the Tanzanian authorities regarding suspected misuse of funds in our Tanzania country programme. An investigation is currently underway, in which the Foundation is a party affected. We cannot comment on the details of the investigation.

The Foundation has suspended all payments to the Tanzania country programme, informed the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Finland as the funding body, and notified the Tanzanian authorities. The foundation has also commissioned an independent special audit. At the same time, we are looking into how the suspected misuse of funds was possible and reviewing our internal processes.
